The Engineering Division is in a position to offer a reliable spunbonding technology, which has been established during many years of direct manufacturing experience, and continuosly updated in order to comply with the always growing market needs, by ORV Manufacturing, one of the biggest European producers of Geotextiles and Carriers for roofing membranes.




The Spunbonding process is a production technique that allows to obtain non-wovens from themoplastic polymers directly in one production step.

ORV's technology offers the following advantages:
• Possibility to use PET flakes from recycled bottles as an alternative or in mix with the chips;
• Spinning beam with multiple positions that allows an high production efficency with guarantee of dimensional stability of the product;
• Reliable process developed and updated during several years of direct production experience;
• Modular design that allows to comply with special production needs.

The process consists of the following steps:
• Loading and storing of the polymer
• Cristallization and drying (PET only)
• Extrusion and filtration
• Spinning into multifilaments
• Quenching and drawing of the filaments by means of compressed air ejectors
• Distribution of the filaments and web formation
• Mechanical bonding with needling or thermobonding by means of calendering
• Thermosetting and calibration
• Slitting, cutting and rolling
• Production of needle-punched non-wovens such as geotextiles, carriers for carpets etc.
• Production of thermobonded non-wovens such as filter media, separators for batteries etc.
• Resin application
• Drying, polymerization and calibration
• Slitting, cutting and rolling
• Production of resinated non-wovens such as Carriers for roofing membranes, Carriers for flooring etc
